Professional Experience
With over 20 years of experience under her belt, Ishana is now focusing on psychometric assessments. She is especially skilled in performing assessments for individuals presenting with cognitive delay, learning difficulties, ASD, ADHD, complex trauma, anxiety and depression. This includes a range of cognitive assessments, diagnostic tests, as well as socio-emotional and behavioural assessments. Ishana works with young children, adolescents and adults.
Born in Durban, South Africa, Ishana migrated to Australia 25 years ago. She started her career as a high school teacher, before becoming a psychologist. She then spent the next 20+ years in various educational institutions as an Educational and Counselling Psychologist. Ishana has also worked in the private sector, providing interventions for a wide range of clients. As a culturally competent practitioner, she has worked across various socio-economic and culturally diverse areas.
Ishana is an empathic, supportive and compassionate psychologist. In her sessions, she practices active listening with a non-judgemental attitude. She has a naturally friendly demeanour, making it easy to build rapport with her clients. She gives her clients a safe space to share their innermost emotions and life experiences, and feels privileged to support them in achieving wellness. She finds it incredibly rewarding to be able to make a difference in her clients’ lives.

When she’s not working, Ishana enjoys going to the gym, watching movies, cooking, reading and travelling.

All online bookings require full upfront payment. This payment is non-refundable but is transferrable if your appointment is rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice. New Vision Psychology has a 24 hours cancellation policy which applies to all initial and follow up appointments. This is because we value the time of our psychologists. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment please call us on 1300 001 778 between 8:30am – 5:30pm between Monday and Friday with at least 24 hours notice (and by Saturday if our appointment is on a Monday) otherwise the full fee will be charged. We do not accept cancellations via text or email. Please cancel by calling 1300 001 778.
