Scheduling that initial appointment or attending your first session is often the most difficult. To deal with your problems, you may have developed coping strategies which exacerbate the situation. Sometimes, talking to family and friends just isn’t enough. I provide a safe space which respects your privacy and confidentiality. Together, we’ll start implementing change to overcome your challenges and achieve your goals.
Tania works with adolescents and adults and is highly skilled in treating anxiety and depression, grief and loss, stress, relationship difficulties, parenting issues, pregnancy support and women’s health. She also has experience working with adolescents in educational settings, providing interventions for academic stress, perfectionism, performance anxiety and interpersonal challenges.
Tania takes her clients on a journey to develop a richer understanding of their own behaviour and implement change in their lives. She deeply values trust and mutual respect within the therapeutic relationship. Taking a client-focused and collaborative approach, Tania works alongside each individual to understand what is meaningful in their lives. She focuses on their values to resolve their issues, while equipping them with skills and strategies they can apply throughout their lives.
Tania often starts with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), as it helps her clients understand how their thoughts, feelings and behaviours influence each other. She then initiates behavioural change by challenging their negative core beliefs. Tania also utilises other therapeutic modalities like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which helps her clients commit to change while accepting things that they cannot control. She also uses Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), which is about self-regulation, being present and sitting with difficult feelings – all of which are important parts of change. Tania likes to incorporate mindfulness practices in all her treatment models.
When she isn’t working, Tania enjoys spending time with her family, eating out and relaxing with friends.
