Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but healing is a process, not a quick fix. Finding the right therapist is key, and if one isn’t the right fit, it’s okay to try another. Therapy works best when you’re open, but you can go at your own pace—there’s no rush to share everything. Your feelings are valid, and discomfort often signals growth. Real change happens between sessions, so practising what you learn is essential. Be kind to yourself, progress comes in small steps. You deserve support, and you don’t have to wait for a crisis to seek it.

Professional Experience
Joanna has 8 years’ experience working with adolescents (13+) and adults. She provides interventions for neurodiversity, depressive disorders, anxiety-related disorders and more. She also conducts screenings and assessments to diagnose Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Joanna is especially skilled at supporting individuals experiencing major life transitions, anxiety tied to uncertainty and control, overthinking, self-doubt, and feelings of being ‘stuck’. She also helps those questioning their purpose, struggling with authenticity, or feeling disconnected from themselves and life, as well as those seeking greater joy and fulfilment.
Through her personal journey, Joanna has come to deeply appreciate how the biological, psychological, environmental, and social threads of our daily lives weave together to influence the mental health challenges we face. For her, therapy is more than just symptom management – it is a holistic journey; a space where people can explore not just their emotions but the underlying forces shaping their mental health.
Joanna believes that meaning is not something we passively find but actively create. This perspective informs her work, where she helps clients reframe struggles, develop self-awareness, and build a life that aligns with their values and strengths. Her deep curiosity and analytical nature inspire her to break down these complexities, while her empathetic and non-judgmental presence ensures that clients feel seen, validated, and encouraged to think deeply about their experiences.
Whether it’s exploring thought patterns, emotional regulation, past experiences, or existential questions, her approach is designed to be insightful, practical, and deeply transformative. Joanna’s goal is to go beyond traditional therapy by challenging conventional narratives, and to equip individuals with the tools to achieve sustainable, long-term mental wellness. She empowers her clients to move beyond surface-level solutions and build a more meaningful life.
Joanna values trust and authenticity in the therapeutic relationship. She aims to balance a structured, research-based approach with a flexible and insightful presence, helping her clients not just understand themselves but also reframe their struggles in ways that feel empowering and liberating.
Joanna’s integrative therapeutic approach acknowledges that no single framework can fully capture the complexity of human experiences. By drawing from CBT, ACT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused techniques, she tailors her approach to each client’s unique needs, ensuring therapy is both structured and flexible. Cognitive and behavioural strategies (CBT & DBT) help clients develop practical coping skills and emotional regulation, while ACT encourages psychological flexibility and values-driven action. Her incorporation of psychodynamic principles allows for deep self-exploration, uncovering unconscious patterns and past influences that shape present struggles. At the same time, her use of solution-focused techniques helps clients identify strengths and actionable steps to move forward.
She shares one of her favourite quotes by Aristotle, “The energy of the mind is the essence of life”.
When she isn’t working, Joanna likes going on adventures, being out in nature, exercising, engaging in self-development hobbies, and enjoying wellness activities like infrared saunas and cryotherapy.
