” Therapy can be as simple as having someone offer a torch in your darkened room, providing guidance and illumination where it’s needed most. You have the answers, we’re here to help you find them.”

Professional Experience

Jennifer is a registered psychologist and forensic registrar who works with adolescents and adults. She is highly experienced in treating addictions (alcohol, drugs, pornography, gambling), violent behaviour, sexual behaviour, antisocial behaviour, theft and other offending behaviours. She is also especially skilled in providing interventions for intellectual disabilities and psychosocial issues such as ADHD, autism, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, PTSD, social phobia, hoarding, bipolar disorder and depression.

Jennifer is passionate about delivering culturally sensitive care. As a Vietnamese-Australian, she relates deeply to Vietnamese and Asian experiences. She is experienced in providing complex interventions in both English and Vietnamese.

Jennifer empowers her clients to achieve their goals and advocate for themselves. She provides a safe and supportive space to ensure they always feel heard. In her sessions, she takes a curious, authentic and compassionate approach to build trust and respect. She helps her clients reach a deeper understanding of themselves and find better ways of responding to difficulties.

Jennifer takes the time to get to know each client on an intrinsic level and tailors her interventions to meet their unique needs. She uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing, with strong influences from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness Based Therapy (MBT). One of her favourite techniques is deep breathing – this is an effective yet often overlooked technique to regulate emotions and manage stress.

Jennifer finds it deeply rewarding to witness the transformative power of finding one’s inner strength. Throughout her career as a psychologist, she’s learnt that the human capacity for resilience and healing is truly remarkable. With the appropriate support and resources, people can overcome the most devasting experiences and thrive in their lives.

She shares this quote, Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today. The conditions of your life truly are unique.”

When she isn’t working, Jennifer enjoys travelling, exploring new places and food, spending time with family and friends, being in nature, listening to music and dancing.
