Professional Experience

Joseph works with adolescents and adults, providing interventions for a range of issues including stress, addiction, ADHD, parenting, trauma, eating disorders, substance use, sleep disorders and chronic pain. He also works with athletes and individuals engaging in high-pressure activities, helping to elevate personal, academic, work and sports performance.

Joseph is driven by a strong sense of compassion and unconditional regard for people. In his sessions, he adopts a genuine, warm and relaxed approach. Joseph provides a non-judgemental environment where he listens empathetically to his clients and encourages them to communicate openly. He helps his clients increase self-awareness and discover personal strengths and resources to effectively tackle challenges, overcome personal obstacles and live more fulfilling lives.

Joseph works with each individual to tailor an approach to suit their needs. He believes that therapy is a collaborative process, with the client actively learning and implementing strategies and providing feedback. He uses a range of therapeutic models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Person-centred Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Positive Psychology and Motivational Interviewing.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), for instance, helps to identify and replace negative and inaccurate thoughts that lead to emotional difficulties and maladaptive behaviours. Joseph applies CBT techniques like cognitive restructuring, journaling, exposure therapy, activity scheduling, behavioural experiments, structured problem solving, behaviour activation, role-playing, relaxation techniques and mental distractions.

Joseph also uses sports psychology to increase motivation and focus, leading to greater confidence and better performance. He teaches goal setting, positive mindset development, pre-performance routines and how to regulate arousal through mindfulness, visualisation and positive self-talk.

When he isn’t working, Joseph enjoys travelling, reading, going for long walks and spending time with his family.
