June Lee
“The human mind is incredibly adaptive. Often, the way you are now is a valid and understandable response to the environment you — or even your ancestors — faced in the past. What becomes challenging is when your environment changes, and what was once an adaptive response is now a mismatch for your current environment. This is where we, psychologists, step in to help you learn new ways of navigating your current world.”

Professional Experience
June is a child psychologist who works with children (6 and up), adolescents, and adults. She conducts psychometric assessments, diagnoses and treats neurodevelopmental disorders, identifies cognitive strengths and weaknesses, and supports emotional regulation. She is especially skilled in anxiety disorders, having delivered anxiety treatments across a wide range of contexts — with children and adults, in private practice and inpatient units, in group and individual formats, and in research settings. She also provides interventions for depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, relationship challenges, and suicide prevention.
June began pursuing her goal of becoming a psychologist at the age of 15, when she recognised her deep compassion for individuals struggling with their mental health. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and is currently undertaking training towards endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist. She is deeply passionate about working with young people and their families, and enjoys working with individuals who are curious, reflective, and eager to learn.
June takes a balanced approach to therapy that prioritises both acceptance and change — on one hand, validating a client’s current state, and on the other, supporting meaningful growth. She believes that understanding and accepting where you are now lays the groundwork for working towards a healthier future.
For her, therapy is a collaboration between two experts – the clinician, who brings expertise in psychology and mental health, and the client, who brings expertise in their own life and lived experience. They work together to address the challenges at hand.
June’s aim is for her clients to feel empowered through therapy by developing deeper insights into themselves and mastering the skills needed to address their difficulties, so that over time they feel confident tackling life’s challenges independently. She finds it particularly meaningful to help others discover new ways of understanding themselves, and to celebrate both big and small wins along their journey of healing.
In her approach to therapy, June prioritises treatment approaches that have strong and reliable research evidence. Her favourite techniques are cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) — while they are great standalone therapies, she believes they also complement each other as they both emphasise the interconnections between emotions, behaviours and thoughts, while targeting different domains for change. June can provide psychology sessions in English and Korean.
When she isn’t working, June enjoys going to the gym, strolling in the sun with her headphones, and exploring new restaurants with friends. She also loves reading fantasy novels, Greek mythology, and watching ancient history documentaries which transport her to other worlds.
