“Be kind to yourself. Life can be challenging, and it’s okay to ask for help. Therapy is a space where you can feel heard, gain a deeper understanding of yourself, and work towards the changes that matter most to you, one step at a time.”

Professional Experience

Martina is a warm and compassionate psychologist who supports older adolescents (17+) and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship challenges, work-related issues, adjustment difficulties and major life transitions. Martina is fluent in both english and Arabic and can work with Arabic speaking clients in Sydney. With a particular interest in perinatal and postpartum mental health, she also supports expectant and new parents as they navigate the emotional and psychological changes that come with pregnancy and early parenthood. Her clients often include those who are experiencing significant life changes, feeling overwhelmed, or needing support to rebuild confidence and find a way forward.

Martina is highly experienced in working with Workers’ Compensation, CTP, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) clients, supporting individuals through injury and recovery, workplace challenges, returning to work, burnout, and other personal and professional challenges. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to mentor other psychologists, providing training and guidance to support their professional development.

Martina offers a collaborative and non-judgemental space where people feel genuinely heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful change. Recognising that opening up to a new person can feel daunting, she aims to create a warm and comfortable environment where clients can feel at ease and be themselves.

For Martina, therapy is a partnership built on trust, compassion, and understanding. She works alongside her clients, helping them better understand themselves, recognise their strengths, build resilience, and develop practical strategies to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence.

Tailoring her approach to each individual’s needs, she draws on a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness. She teaches practical strategies that clients can continue to use long after their sessions have ended. For instance, the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique, which can help people reconnect with the present moment when they’re feeling overwhelmed. She also uses progressive muscle relaxation to help clients reduce physical tension and better manage anxiety.

One of the most important things Martina has learnt as a psychologist is that people are often far more resilient than they realise. While life can be incredibly challenging, she believes that with the right support, people have an incredible capacity to heal, grow, and create meaningful change.

She considers it a privilege to support people through some of the most challenging and meaningful times in their lives. Seeing clients grow in confidence, overcome challenges, and achieve the changes they have been working towards is one of the most rewarding aspects of her work and continues to inspire her as a psychologist.

Outside of work, Martina enjoys spending time with family and friends, going for walks and finding moments to slow down and recharge. She loves exploring new places, trying different cuisines, and learning about other cultures through travel. She believes it’s important to make time for connection and the simple things in life that help us feel grounded and present.
