” It’s very normal to feel nervous about engaging in therapy; most people have a natural fear of the unknown. Taking part in therapy can feel vulnerable and it’s natural to want to protect yourself. At the same time, therapy can also bring relief – giving you a space dedicated to focusing on yourself and improving your wellbeing.”

Professional Experience

Kristy is an experienced psychologist who works with children (6 and up), adolescents and adults. She is skilled in treating anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, workplace-related issues, relationship difficulties, stress and burnout.

Kristy treats children with anxiety disorders, diagnoses and treats ADHD, and performs cognitive assessments. She helps parents with parenting concerns and step-parenting. She also works with individuals who have loved ones with a personality disorder. She collaborates with families and teachers to implement recommendations and navigate challenges.

Kristy is also particularly skilled in treating women with self-esteem and confidence issues, people pleasing tendencies, prenatal and postnatal anxiety and depression, perimenopause and menopause.

In her sessions, Kristy provides a place for her clients to be vulnerable, process, heal and grow. She takes a collaborative, warm, open and relaxed approach to therapy. She even brings humour into her sessions where appropriate.

Kristy aims to help her clients develop more insights into their concerns and symptoms, feel empowered and gain personal growth and healing. She helps them get to know who they are, what their values are, build resilience, and set goals without fear or judgment. She wants her clients to walk out of their sessions feeling heard, supported and empowered. She finds it especially rewarding when her clients have an “aha!” moment and start gaining self-confidence.

Kristy takes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Positive Psychology and Mindfulness-Based Therapy. The field of psychology is dynamic and constantly changing, and Kristy is fuelled by the fact that there is always something new to learn. She is dedicated to keeping up to date with her professional learning and training.

When she isn’t working, Kristy enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, watching Netflix, keeping fit and staying updated on world issues.
