Professional Experience

Joss is a warm and empathetic psychologist who works with children (8 and up), adolescents and adults. She is especially skilled in treating adults with eating disorders and body image concerns. She also provides interventions for depression, anxiety, ADHD, ASD, PTSD, OCD, gender and sexuality issues, anger management and work stress.

Joss moved to Australia from New Zealand in 2010. Her mission is to create a safe and non-judgemental space for her clients to feel heard. She believes people are more capable than what they give themselves credit for and her goal is to help them develop their self-efficacy. In her sessions, she helps her clients find their strengths and work through their challenges.

It is important for Joss to understand and work with each client at where they are at and provide them with the skills and strategies to get to where they want to be. She finds it incredibly rewarding to see her clients overcome what they thought would never be possible.

Joss is client-centred, non-judgemental and empathic. In her practice, she mainly uses cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), which focuses on identifying underlying thoughts and beliefs and understanding how they influence our emotions and behaviours. She also takes strategies from dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) for distress tolerance and assertive communication. She also uses enhanced cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT-E) to treat eating disorders.

When she isn’t working, Joss enjoys camping, games night with friends and walking her dogs.
