Professional Experience

Priya has worked in education, research and therapy for almost 20 years. She is especially skilled in providing interventions for children and families, autism, trauma and attachment issues. Priya works with children, adolescents, parents, families and adults from diverse backgrounds. She also conducts assessments for cognitive function, ASD and ADHD.

Using an empathetic and curious approach, Priya collaborates with her clients to understand the strategies that will best enable them to achieve their wellbeing and mental health goals. She is passionate about helping people work through their issues to become their best selves.

For Priya, the success of therapy depends on the client-therapist alliance. She focuses on building rapport with her clients and prioritises open communication about therapy goals. She tailors her therapy to the individual’s needs and uses a range of modalities including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) and attachment-based therapy.

When she isn’t working, Priya enjoys travelling or reading a book by the beach in the sun. She reads everything from children’s fantasy to classics and self-help books. She is also a mother of teenage children.
